Budget deal announced by Governor & legislative leaders
Floor action on most budget bills expected today, Tuesday, June 27
The Governor and the leaders of the Assembly and Senate announced late on Monday, June 26, that they have reached an agreement on the 2023-24 state budget. Their statement is here.
The two houses’ budget committees held hearings on Monday. (While the Assembly Budget Committee was previously announced to be “on call” for Tuesday, no additional Assembly Budget Committee hearing is expected.) Bill analyses and a summary of the June 26 budget agreement were posted on the websites of both the Assembly Budget Committee and the Senate Committee on Budget and Fiscal Review.
Approximately 20 of the 22 budget bills jr., trailer bills, and other bills authored by the Budget Committees are expected for legislative floor votes on Tuesday, June 27. (The 22 bills are listed here.)
Other policy bills that were discussed in recent weeks were mentioned in the budget deal announcement late on Monday, June 26.
